Lindsay

Lindsay OnckenLindsay is from Columbia, Missouri. Graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology.  Lindsay did gymnastics at Tiger Academy for 7 years competing her last year as a Level 7 gymnast. She has been coaching at Tiger since 2007 and currently jumps into any class! Outside of the gym she enjoys catching up on her favorite TV shows, spending time with family and friends and is a Real Estate Lending Representative at Landmark Bank.  When asked why coach gymnastics, she responds: “Coaching gymnastics is what I look forward to everyday. It’s so rewarding to see how excited a gymnast gets when they accomplish a goal you have helped them to achieve. I may be the “tough-love” kind of coach, but it is so gratifying when the girls realize it was tough for a reason and their hard work and stressful practices have paid off. I also enjoy getting to know the girls as individuals and joking around with them from time to time.”

Why coach? Tina responds:  “I love the atmosphere and the relationships I build with my athletes, as a coach and as a role model. I believe that with every step forward comes a challenge. I have always tried to motivate and push my athletes past each challenge they face, big or small. I’m Connie and I have been a gymnastics coach for 5 years and have been with Tiger Academy for the past 2 years.  I have coached USAG Levels 1 through 7.  All of the levels have their challenges, but my favorite level to coach is Level 5 Team. I love watching the girls develop the skills that they will need for the rest of their gymnastics career.  Everyone asks me why I coach and the answer is simple, I love the sport!
